Patchwork - potholders

Using the technique of "patchwork" , you can sew stitches with geometric or asymmetrical patterns. How to do it, you will now find out.

Patchwork patties - master class

You will need pieces of contrasting colors, an old towel, 12 cm of braid and sewing accessories.

Progress:

  1. Cut out 2 items from the towel with dimensions 19x23 cm.
  2. Cut out of colored fabrics 3 rectangles of different colors so that, having combined them together, we get a rectangle measuring 20x24 cm. We spend them together and smooth the allowances from the wrong side.
  3. Fold the resulting blank with a rectangle of a towel, cut off the excess and spend them along the bottom part.
  4. Fold the braid together twice near the upper corner.
  5. We cut out a rectangle with a size of 19x23 cm from a monochrome fabric. We put all the details in this order:
  6. We break their pins and spend them, retreating from the edge of 2-3 mm. On the underside, leave a hole 5-7 cm and stab it along the edges.
  7. We turn the tack on the front side.
  8. The hole is stuck.

The tack is ready.

Pothole with ornament

It will take:

To make any pothook with ornament in patchwork technique, it is better to first make a scheme to determine the color of each part. For our product we will use the following ornament:

Progress:

  1. Proceeding from the given scheme, we cut out details and we spend them among ourselves, having made allowances on 2-3 mm.
  2. We cut out from the batting and monophonic fabric the squares of the sizes obtained were made. Fold them as shown in the photo.
  3. We split them between each other and we spread it, retreating from the existing seam by 5 mm in each direction.
  4. We make a loop from a darker fabric and sew it to one of the corners.
  5. From the same fabric we make a long ribbon, fold it in half, make a corner on the end and sew on the front side in the following way.
  6. At the corners do this:
  7. To finish, you must again make a corner and stitch it a little further than the first.
  8. We bend the sewn tape to the wrong side, fix it with sewing pins and spread it out.

Our potholders with geometric patterns are ready.
