Pantanal

In the south-western part of Bolivia there is a real ecological paradise for tourists - the Pantanal. Its area is more than 30 thousand square kilometers. The climate here is rather mild, and the air temperature ranges from +12 to +25 ° C.

In Spanish, the word Pantanal means "swampy lowland": it is considered the largest in the world. This richest basin is located on the territory of several states: Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. The possessions of the Pantanal are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, since there are 4 protected natural areas here. One of them is the reserve with the same name Pantanal.

Flora and fauna

The animal and plant world of the Pantanal is very diverse. There are many different birds (about 650 species), reptiles (more than 80 species), insects (among them more than 1000 species of butterflies), reptiles (about 60 species) and fish (about 250 species) in the natural reserve. Here you can see a spectacle that you will not find anywhere else - an anaconda living in natural conditions, or huge clusters of caimans. The Pantanal is also a paradise for fishing. In addition, going to the fascinating Pantanal safari, you can make wonderful photos for memory.

Equally rich is the vegetation of the Pantanal. The territory is covered with cereals, perennial grasses, half-shrubs, bushes and numerous trees. A feature of this area is the blending of savannas and seasonal forests.
