Orange tree at home

For many of us, bright and juicy oranges have been associated with the holiday since childhood. It does not matter that all the holidays end sooner or later, because oranges can be grown all year round. We'll talk about how to grow an orange tree at home today.

Growing an orange tree from a bone in the home

Step 1 - search and preparation of inoculum

So, it is decided - we will grow our own orange tree. Where do we start this process? Well, of course, with the search for suitable seed. As you know, you can grow an orange tree in two ways: from a stone or from a handle. Each of these methods has its advantages and disadvantages. The trees, grown from cuttings, completely retain all the varietal properties of the parent plants and give a faster yield. But the cutting of an orange in our latitudes is not such a simple task. With the search for the same orange pits, problems do not arise - it is enough to buy a ripe orange in any store and pick out the ripened seeds from it. They must be complete and have the right form.

Step 2 - planting the bones

Immediately after the bones were extracted from the pulp, you can proceed to plant them in the ground. For planting, you need a rectangular container filled with a mixture of flower ground and peat . At the bottom of the tank lay a thick layer of drainage. It is more reasonable to plant bones collected from several different fruits in one container, placing them at a distance of at least 5 cm from each other and from the walls. It is not necessary to deeply bury bones - just drop them into the ground for 2-3 cm, and sprinkle a thin layer of earth on top.

Step 3 - care for seedlings

Immediately after planting, the container with bones is placed in a warm room (18-22 degrees), well-lit, but not exposed to direct sunlight. The earth in a container with seeds is regularly moistened, while trying to avoid overflows. With proper care after 14-20 days from the ground, the first shoots will appear. When they are formed on several real leaves, orange trees can be discarded on individual pots 8-10 cm in diameter.

Step 4 - caring for a home-made orange tree

How to take care of a home-made orange tree? First of all - regularly watered, not allowing the stagnation of water. To provide him with the necessary moisture, the tree must be regularly sprayed. For all water procedures, it is best to use standing water at room temperature.

From time to time - once in one or two years - the orange tree should be transplanted into a new pot, whose diameter is greater than the previous one by 3-4 cm. It is quite difficult to transplant an adult tree, so the ground in a pot is updated only from above.

To the crown of the tree grew evenly, the pot with it rotate around its axis, changing its position once every 5-7 days.
