Let's consider features of application of a cream (ointment) Travocort, its indications, and also contraindications.
Composition and pharmacological action of the travocort
This drug is a combined agent, which includes active ingredients, which we consider in more detail.
Isoconazole Nitrate
Synthetic substance, which has antifungal, fungistatic and antibacterial effects. Helps suppress the synthesis of ergosterol membranes of fungal cells, thereby causing their death, as well as blocking the synthesis of bacterial proteins. The spectrum of antifungal and antimicrobial activity includes:
- dermatophytes (including Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp.);
- mold, yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida spp., Pityrosporum orbiculare and ovale);
- the causative agent of erythrasma, Trichomonas;
- Gram-positive bacteria (in particular, streptococci, staphylococci).
With local application, isoconazole has virtually no systemic effect on the body.
Diflucortolone valerate
Glucocorticosteroid of local action, which has anti-inflammatory, antiexudative, antiallergic and antipruritic effect. Promotes the removal of intercellular edema and tissue infiltration, the expansion of capillaries, which contributes to reducing the manifestations of the inflammatory process on the skin surface, reducing redness, burning and pain. The substance quickly penetrates into the deep layers of the skin, absorbed into the systemic blood stream in a small amount.
