Naruto Bridge

The Naruto Bridge or, as it is also called, the Great Naruto Bridge is located above the strait of the same name and connects the largest island of the Japanese archipelago, Honshu, with the island of Shikoku. It is a huge suspension bridge with a length of 1629 m and a width of 25 m.

What to see?

The Naruto Bridge is the main transport channel in Japan between the Kinki and Shikoku regions. First of all, it serves as a road. At the same time, the bridge is one of the most popular tourist sites in the country. Naruto Bridge photos in Japan have become even more popular after the release of the manga cartoon, where the main character is named Naruto. Fans of the series began to consider the bridge a real element of the world, shown in the cartoon.

But most tourists appreciate the Great Naruto Bridge for the other. First, this is one of the most interesting constructions of the country. The very idea of building a bridge in this place could seem like an adventure, since the Naruto Strait is famous for its funnels, the number and size of which can vary several times a day. During the day, a wide funnel, suggestive of horror, can turn into a completely harmless ripple in the water.

In addition, there is Udzu no Mitya, the so-called "sea promenade" at an altitude of 15 m. Naruto is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, so time passes unnoticed. On the bridge there are four places for rest and one observation deck. Its floor is made of glass. Tourists who have already visited the site say that the time spent there can be compared to flying over a raging sea.

Visiting the Great Bridge does not end only with a walk, there are several entertainments. Each of them aims to tell the guests of the city about the nature of the waves and whirlpools in the Naruto Channel.

How to get there?

The Naruto Bridge belongs to the eponymous city in Japan.

The building can be reached by public transport : Naruto-Coen bus stop (Tokushima bus), Naruto railway station (JR line). Also near the bridge there is a paid car parking.
