Musical Pavilion

History of construction

Sarajevo was under the rule of several states. For example, the Ottoman Empire left a great legacy behind itself. The Austro-Hungarian Empire did not last long in these lands, but there are also references to it on the streets of the city.

In particular, this is the Music Pavilion, erected in 1913 and is now one of only four buildings left after the reign of the great Austro-Hungarian state. The construction of the pavilion was managed by the famous architect of the time Josef Pospisil.

From destruction to restoration

The Second World War was ruthless for the pavilion - it was badly damaged, for a long time in the ruined state.

Only in 2004 the building was restored, completely returning to its original form: the first floor in the form of a rectangle, which is built of white stone, and above the first floor there are carved wooden columns.

Today, the pavilion is used as a venue for concerts and other events. Also in the pavilion there is a cafe, from which a wonderful view of the charming park and the river Milyatka flowing along it.

To explore the Music Pavilion, enjoy its amazing acoustics, you need to come to Sarajevo and visit the Atmejdan park. The public transport routes No.101, No.103, No.104 pass by the park.
