Mental phenomena

Whatever our psyche is doing, any manifestation of its activity is called a psychic phenomenon. There are three kinds of phenomena - process, state and properties. All of them can be perceived as a single manifestation of the human psyche, as one single psychic phenomenon, because each process can be interpreted from three "bells". For example, the state of affect can be considered as a mental property, because it reflects the human psyche in a certain period of time. On the other hand, it can also be a process - after all, this is the stage of development of emotions, and also the treatment of affect as a property of the psyche - temper and incontinence of a person is not excluded.

Mental processes

The initial formation of the human psyche is a mental process. This kind of mental phenomena demonstrates the ever-changing interconnection between "man and the world". Sensation, perception, memory, thinking and even speech are all psychic processes.

Every mental process has its own object of reflection (what is at stake, on what topic is thinking, what is remembered, etc.). In addition, the peculiarity of this psychic phenomenon is that each manifestation of the mental process has its own regulatory function. Speech is regulated by the speech center of the cerebral cortex, the same with memory, perception, sensory senses.

Mental conditions

Unlike the mental process, a mental state is a fixation of a static moment, as if a photograph. A state is an attitude to that which is contained within a person. In moments of mental states, all senses are integrated, which occurs when the personality interacts with the surrounding world.

Mental states are unconscious psychic phenomena. If we are memorizing, we concentrate on information, then the mood in us arises, as if, "in itself".

Depending on the characteristics of each of us, the states can be long-term or short-term, stable or situational. At the same time, it is possible to classify states according to their content:

Mental properties

Properties - this is what is typical of human behavior. In the characterization of these psychic phenomena, everything is stable and repeated from time to time. Properties - this is what the structure of personality consists of .

As it is easy to guess, the properties of our personality are character, temperament, ability.
