The lining for the teeth (veneers) is a microprosthesis that is installed on the visible line of a smile. This is a modern alternative to fillings and the ability to avoid installing a crown. With their help, you can eliminate various defects in the dentition and decorate the tooth with precious metal or a sparkling diamond.
Indications for the installation of the lining of teeth
The lining of the teeth will help to eliminate such defects:
- chips and cracks in the enamel ;
- large gaps between teeth;
- yellowish-gray color of the enamel;
- irregular shape of the dentition and bite ;
- diastema (abnormally large distance between the anterior incisors);
- problems with enamel, which appeared after prolonged wearing of braces.
You can also use them to hide old fillings. White pads also set on dead teeth, darkened with time. This allows you to make a beautiful smile, without resorting to aggressive bleaching agents.
Types of lining for teeth
To date, there are three types of lining for the tooth, used instead of the crown:
- Composite lining for teeth - installed in the dentist's office, most often attached to the chewing teeth. Produced from the composition, which is based on the filling material. The enamel does not practically suffer during installation, since it is not necessary to sharpen the tooth for better grip.
- Ceramic lining for teeth - can be installed on the front and lower teeth or on the fangs. They are produced in a laboratory of especially strong medical porcelain. Before installing these veneers, the top layer of the enamel is carefully ground. Well attached even to badly damaged teeth.
- Decorative pads on the teeth - have a cosmetic effect, can hide the changed color of the enamel or give it an unusual appearance (golden tinge, shine, etc.).
Care of dental patches
Such lining for teeth does not need any specific care. So that they do not lose their properties and retain their original appearance, it is enough just to thoroughly brush your teeth twice a day and use dental floss. Damage to veneers can only be a bad habit to gnaw nails or pencils and frequent use of nuts, food and beverages containing dyes (they can absorb into the composite material of the linings, permanently changing its hue). Also, it is not necessary after cleaning the linings to clean the seeds with their teeth, tear off the thread or keep any metal objects in their mouths.
