Janice beach


One of the best and most famous spa places in Montenegro is the beach of Janica. This place has also the second name - the presidential beach - all because former Yugoslav President Joseph Broz Tito once chose it as a place to rest .

The beach of Janice, as it is sometimes called, is a short drive from the city ​​of Herceg Novi , on the peninsula of Lustica. Due to the location in the bay the sea here is relatively calm, and there are practically no storms. The beach is covered with snow-white pebbles and is surrounded by olive groves. Janica also has special attractions - the Blue Cave and the island of Mamula with a medieval fortress, which can be reached by tourist boats.

The temperature of air and water at this time is + 26 ° C and + 23 ° C, respectively, and the holidaymakers are several times less than in any summer month.

How to get there?

There are several ways to get to the beach in Zhanica:

  1. From Herceg Novi by boat. The first sails to the beach at 9:00, the last at 13:00. Return flights - from 17:00 to 20:00, but you can leave early if you want.
  2. On a rented car from any settlement of the peninsula.

  1. Beach shoes. Since the beach is covered with large pebbles, it will be problematic to walk along it barefoot.
  2. Sea urchins. As you know, they live only in clean water, which, undoubtedly, pleases, but when swimming, it is better to be careful.
  3. The water temperature in the sea here is slightly lower than on other beaches in Montenegro.
