Thermal Palace


The thermal palace in Belgian Ostend is not only one of the most interesting city attractions , but also the largest health resort of the country. The palace building is located near the sea and stands out with an unusual architecture, a history in which the state rulers took part. What is interesting about the palace?

In the XIX century, the city of Ostend had a reputation as an excellent resort city, in which once it was possible to rest King Leopold II. The local places impressed the monarch so much that he ordered to build the Thermal Palace in Ostend. Since the city has many sources with healing and thermal water, it was decided to use it in the treatment of various ailments. Soon rulers from neighboring countries, wealthy and famous people began to come to the health resort, among them there was the famous Russian poet Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol.

Nowadays, the city resort is no longer so popular, but enterprising locals have made every effort to ensure that interest in this place does not fade. Today, near the Thermal Palace in Ostend, the chic Thermae Palace Hotel is open, there is a swimming pool, a small Japanese garden is broken, an art gallery is functioning. Under the arches of the health resorts you can often see exhibitions of works by novice artists and photographers.

How to get there?

You can reach the health resort by public transport . Near the Thermal Palace there is a bus stop "Oostende Sportstraat" and tramway - "Oostende Koninginnelaan", the walking walk from which will last no more than 15 - 20 minutes. You can get to the Thermal Palace every day from 11:00 to 19:00. Entrance for all categories of citizens is free.
