Excursions from Interlaken

Interlaken in Switzerland is the starting point for a lot of interesting excursions, the most popular of them will be discussed below.

What excursion to choose?

"Top of Europe"

The most spectacular and popular excursion from Interlaken is a train journey to the highest mountain railway station at Jungfrau (3454 meters above sea level), which is called the "Summit of Europe".

This route was opened in 1912 and is rightly considered the pride of the Swiss, because in no country in Europe there are railroads at such heights. The Jungfrau complex includes several local restaurants , a post office, gift shops, a glacier museum and a meteorological station, but the most interesting in this complex is the observation deck, which offers a magnificent panorama of the Swiss Alps .

Grindelwald

Another popular excursion is to explore the surroundings of Grindelwald , 19 km from Interlaken. Grindelwald is a wonderful ski resort and a favorite place for winter sports. There is everything for the convenience of tourists (funiculars, cable cars, ski lifts, etc.). In addition to excellent ski trails, in Grindelvade you can visit the train museum and the zoo.

Mount Schilthorn

This is an excursion along the longest Alpine cable car . It was here that the first series of James Bond was filmed. On this route you will see stunning alpine grottoes and glaciers, as well as visit one of the best institutions in Switzerland - the rotating restoran "Piz Gloria", located at around 2971 meters above sea level.

Excursions to Bern and Geneva

Interlaken organizes trips to the major Swiss cities of Berne and Geneva with a visit to their main attractions.

Summer excursions

During the summer, walks on motor ships along the Brienz and Tun lakes are very popular. Swim, most likely, you do not want, because the water temperature in the lakes in the summer barely reaches 20 degrees Celsius.
