Imposing man

Surely you have heard more than once, when women say among themselves: "He is such an impressive man!". Immediately there is an impression that we are talking about a very attractive, bright person. And what does this phrase actually mean?

What does "impressive man" mean?

This phrase is so bright and tempting in itself, that it draws various pleasant images in the female mind. If you look in the dictionary and see the meaning of the words "Impossible man", then everything will clear up at once. The meaning of the word "man" is already known to us, but the "impressive" that came in Russian from the French imposant means interesting, charismatic, beautiful, personable, elegant, attractive, and impressive. There is also an indication that this adjective usually determines the type of appearance in men, but sometimes it is transferred to some objects.

Approximately this impression is produced by this word, even if you have not previously been familiar with its dictionary meaning. Speaking of an impressive man, we mean an attractive, bright, successful person.

However, in the modern world, in the question of what an imposing man means, there can be also pitfalls. After all, the idea of how a respectable, elegant person should look like, also changes with time.

Modern Impossible Man

So, remember once again that our phrase denotes a man endowed with the following qualities: interesting, charismatic, beautiful, personable, elegant, attractive, giving an impression.

If you are invited to present an imposing man from, say, the 19th century, who will you represent? Most likely, it will be a kind of "dandy", like Eugene Onegin, who is a nobleman, he does not work, he spends his days with amusements and balls, he was educated, as was the case with a nobleman in the 19th century. He is beautiful, and attractive, and elegant, and respectable.

And what about the impressive man in our age? Charismatic and interesting, we increasingly consider television presenters, actors and singers, but not all people from these categories can be called representative. We consider top-managers, heads of corporations, deputies, various high-ranking officials and leaders to be respectable people, but we do not find all of them interesting.

The next problem is with elegance: on the one hand, an elegant person dresses in a classic style, and on the other hand, he is not alien to fashion trends. Nowadays these concepts sometimes diverge quite strongly, and it becomes unclear who is impressive - the one on which a strict expensive classic costume, or one who dresses exclusively in brand-name things of business style, each of which stands a round sum. It is difficult to call an imposing person who wears a T-shirt and jeans, which means that it's about business clothes. At the same time, the one and the other person will be impressing, and maybe even be beautiful, although this characteristic is perhaps the most subjective.

And yet, who should you imagine when you hear the "impressive man"? It will be a man, most likely, older than 25-30 years, dressed strictly, but necessarily with taste, in quality things, attractive appearance, memorable, attractive in communication and, most likely, occupying some prestigious position. Agree, in our time, when money can determine the attitude towards a person, it is difficult to imagine an impressive male plumber.
