How to properly plant a mandarin grown in stone at home?

First, let's determine if you need to plant a mandarin grown from a bone in general. Of course, you can start the process on its own and the mandarin tree will safely grow, please the eye with lush greenery and even after a while can fertilize. But without the vaccination this time will not come earlier than 10-15 years after planting, and the fruits will be small and sour. Vaccination in this case serves as a kind of accelerator, significantly approximating the time of fruiting. Consider the process of vaccination in stages:

  1. To graft a mandarin, as however, and other home-made citrus fruits is best in early April. It is during this period that the plant enters a phase of active sap movement, which means that the vaccine has every chance of quickly settling in. No less successful will be the vaccination of mandarin in August.
  2. In order for the vaccine to be successful, it is necessary to prepare everything necessary for this in advance: a well grounded knife, a graft and a rootstock, a garden var and an insulating tape. Recall that the graft is a branch from a cultivated plant, and the stock is a seedling, grown from the stone. It is not recommended to vaccinate plants that have not reached the age of 2 years, the trunk of which is less than 6 cm in diameter.
  3. The graft is performed as follows: at a height of 5-7 cm from the ground, the trunk is cleaned of dust and dirt with a wet cotton swab or cloth. Then gently, in order not to damage the wood, make a T-cut with an eyepiece knife inserted into it with a graft. In this case, all operations are performed quickly and without touching the slices with your hands. Then the edges of the notches are gently pressed and the place of grafting is wound with an elastic band. For a better fusion on the pot, a mini-greenhouse is built, which is periodically ventilated.
