How to make a portfolio for a schoolboy?

Since 2011, in almost all general education institutions, the design of the student's portfolio is compulsory. It is necessary to compose it already in primary school. It is clear that for a first-grader this will be a difficult task, therefore, in the main, the preparation of this document falls on the shoulders of the parents. And it is quite natural that many of them will have a question how to formalize the schoolboy's portfolio.

What does the student's portfolio look like?

Portfolio is called a collection of documents, photos, work samples illustrating the knowledge, skills, skills of a person in any activity. A children's portfolio for a schoolboy gives information about the child himself, his environment, school performance, participation in various school and extracurricular activities. It demonstrates his success in creativity, sport, hobby. The school explains the purpose of creating a portfolio of the primary school student by the fact that in the process of working the child comprehends his first achievements and opportunities, he has an incentive for further development of abilities. This work will help him when moving to another school. In addition, the portfolio of a gifted child gives further chances for admission to higher education.

How to make a portfolio of a schoolboy?

To make a portfolio for a schoolboy with his own hands is not so difficult, you will need fantasy and the desire to create, as well as the child's cooperation with parents.

The structure of any portfolio implies a title page, sections and applications. You can buy ready-made forms in the bookstore and fill them in by hand. Alternatively, design yourself in Photoshop, CorelDraw, or Word.

  1. On the title page for the student's portfolio, the child's surname and name, age, number and name of the school, class, photo is added.
  2. Next, a section ("My World" or "My Portrait") is made up, which includes the biography of the student, information about his name, family, friends, hobbies, hometown, school, etc. The material is submitted in the form of short essays and is accompanied by photographs.
  3. The next section is "My study", which reflects the progress of the child, describes the teacher and favorite school subjects, with the examples of successful compositions, solved problems.
  4. The portfolio of the elementary school student describes participation in various school and extracurricular activities, competitions, sports competitions, olympiads and intellectual games with the name, date, and photo attachment. The originals or copies of medals, certificates and diplomas with which the child was awarded are necessarily attached. This section is called "My achievements".
  5. If the child is fond of any creativity, it can be reflected in the section "My hobbies" or "My creativity" with my own poems and stories, photos of hand-made articles, drawings, etc.
  6. It is possible to include the section "My impressions" with the description of visiting exhibitions, the theater, a cinema, excursions.
  7. In the section "Reviews and wishes" are attached the feedback of teachers, organizers, classmates.
  8. And the content in the student's portfolio is mandatory, indicating the page number of each section.

Over time, the child's portfolio needs to be replenished with new demonstrations of successes and achievements.
