How to make a gate with your own hands?

How to make an entrance gate with your own hands?

To do this, we will need a Bulgarian, a rivet gun or a screwdriver, a welding machine, a bur for the pit, a shovel, a primer, concrete, paint and a brush. In addition, you need to purchase the necessary material: metal pipes, corrugated board, roofing screws, locking devices.

1. First, you need to install poles for the gate. For them we take thick-walled pipes of any section: rectangular, square, round. With the help of a drill, we drill holes in the ground in places where, according to the preliminary scheme, the goal posts will stand. The depth of the pits should be about 1.5 meters. Those parts of the pillars that will be in the ground need to be treated with waterproofing paint, which will protect them from corrosion. We install poles in pits and fill them with concrete.
2. Then, using rectangular pipes of smaller diameter, by welding we make a frame, on which in the future we will fix the corrugated board. The number of frames will depend on the overall design of the gate.
3. The finished frames must be attached to the posts using the gate loops. The number of loops should be determined depending on the weight of the entire structure. On the doors of the gate we determine the places where the locking devices, locks, opening limiters will be located.
4. The entire structure must be coated in two layers with a metal primer, which will help to avoid corrosion. After this, it is necessary to apply enamel, in color suitable to the shade of the corrugated board.
5. To make the structure more stable, it is possible to install a reinforced concrete bolt that will connect the goal posts, setting it below the ground level.
6. Only after the poured concrete has finally solidified, it is possible to begin the installation of the door leafs from the corrugated board. Its sheets can be fastened to the frame using self-tapping screws or rivets made of steel. It should be remembered that sheets of corrugated sheet must be installed, observing the overlap in one wave.
7. After finishing the installation of the gate, you need to install locks and locking devices, damaged areas can be painted with a suitable paint. This will look like a gate installed by oneself.
