It is difficult to find a house in which curtain rods are not used. They serve as a support for curtains / curtains and make the room even more elegant. In this case, you can make it yourself, because knowing how to make a curtain rod for your own curtains, you can save money and arrange it according to your own taste.
How to make a curtain rod for curtains?
You can use wood , plastic, aluminum or iron for manufacturing. The latter material is more durable and able to withstand even the heaviest curtains, so it is optimal. When starting to work you need to buy such materials:
- metal pipes with a diameter of 19 and 25 mm and a length of 4 meters;
- 4 end caps;
- thin iron rod;
- ballon with paint;
- Loops with clamps for the eaves.
The work will be carried out in stages:
- Manufacture of holders . Bulgarian cut the metal into three identical parts (25 cm each). These rods will serve as holders. Now use the grinding wheel to cut out the grooves for the cornices. The first groove should be slightly wider, since it will be attached to a 25-millimeter tube. The next groove can be a little thinner.
- Preparation of parts . With sandpaper, clean the pipes and apply a primer to them. After that, you can paint details with their paint sprayer. If desired, you can use ordinary canned paint, but if you want to get such a smart golden hue, then you better use a can.
- Caps . At the ends of the pipes you need to install plugs, which will protect the blind from slipping. To do this, you can use special accessories for cornices or round wooden handles with pre-made holes.
- Installation . Drill a hole in the wall of the drill with a diameter of 12 mm. Insert the holders into the holes, and cover the formed slots with putty. Now the pipes can be placed on the holders and hang curtains on them. In addition, you do not need to fix the cornice, since under the weight of the curtains it will be firmly in the grooves.
