Selection of make-up , haircuts, headgear and even rim glasses is carried out taking into account the features of the face. Some women are lucky, and they have perfect proportions, having the ability to wear any hairstyles and accessories. But most people need to know how to determine the shape of a person to unerringly choose an image and successfully hide the flaws, while emphasizing the benefits.
Oval face shape
The correct shape of the face suggests that it can be visually divided into 3 equal parts, both in height and width, and the distance from the center of the lips to the tip of the nose is 1/3 of the lower third. This is clearly shown in the figure.
The considered species is considered to be perfectly proportional. Its characteristic features:
- forehead width slightly larger than the lower jaw;
- rounded chin;
- the widest place is the cheekbones;
- the line of hair growth is oval;
- height slightly more than width.
It is worth noting that the uppermost point of the face is considered to be the hair growth line, and not the border of the skull.
Square face shape and its subtypes
The classical "square" is characterized by the following features:
- practical equal length and width of face;
- chin with a lower straight line;
- width of jaw, forehead and cheekbones identical;
- a straight line of hair growth;
- angular lower jaw.
The described form of the face has varieties.
Rectangular:
- almost straight, perhaps a slightly rounded line of the chin;
- the height of the face is much larger than its width;
- the same size of the jaw, cheekbones and forehead;
- straight chin, may be slightly rounded;
- the lower jaw is angular, but softer than with a square face.
Triangular:
- the broadest part of the face is the forehead and cheekbones;
- the narrowest zone is the chin;
- the height of the face is slightly larger than its width;
- the line of hair is straight or in the form of a heart;
- the chin is pointed.
Round shape of the face and its varieties
The main type of the subgroup under consideration is the "circle". Character traits:
- the length and width of the face almost coincide;
- chin rounded, outlined in flowing lines;
- cheekbones - the widest zone of the face;
- the line of hair growth resembles an ideal semicircle;
- the entire face is distinguished by smooth curves without corners.
The round form is also subdivided into subspecies.
Pear-shaped (trapezoidal):
- the widest area is the lower jaw;
- the face gradually narrows to the temples;
- chin wide and straight, but with smooth lines;
- the length of the face slightly exceeds its width;
- oval hairline, slightly elongated to the top (conical).
Diamond-shaped:
- high cheekbones;
- the height of the face is slightly larger than the width;
- the widest part is in the cheek area;
- chin a little pointed, but smoothly delineated;
- the line of hair growth is narrow and rounded.
How to determine the shape of a person?
Having described the 7 main types of combination of proportions, it is easy to find out your own face shape. To do this, you need a soft "centimeter", a mirror, a paper and a pen or a pencil.
The most accurate method involves performing measurements. The following parameters should be defined:
- height of the face from the line of hair growth to the lower central point of the chin;
- distance between the extremities of the cheekbones;
- the width of the lower jaw, measuring it from the corners;
- length between points, located just above the temples;
- the size of the chin.
The obtained values should be recorded and correlated with the description of each of the 7 main forms of the face.
A faster way to determine its proportions requires only the presence of a mirror and unnecessary lipstick or marker, soap or other remedy that is easily removed from the glass.
Actions:
- Remove the hair from your face. Stand directly to the mirror at a distance slightly less than the outstretched arm.
- Circle the contour of the face, starting with the chin and moving to the forehead. You can first put the guide dashes.
- A little step away from the mirror and see what kind of figure it turned out.
