Chicken eggs in themselves have different natural shades, but, thanks to natural dyes, the colors on your table on the Easter holiday will be brighter and more diverse. To do this you will need products that can be bought in any supermarket: purple cabbage, beets, coffee grounds and turmeric.

Natural dyes for Easter eggs

So, we need:

Use only metal or glass containers, since the plastic and the ceramic can remain paint.

If you have 4 pans (which can easily accommodate the required amount of water), then you can paint at once in four colors. If you have, for example, only two, then first you have to paint one batch of eggs, wash the dishes well and then paint the other. First, you need to prepare a "foundation", and only then add the ingredient that gives the desired color.

For a basis in each saucepan mix 1 tablespoon. white vinegar, 4 glasses of water and 1 tbsp. salt. After that, add dye to each base. In order to get a pink color, add 2 large-sliced beets to the saucepan with the base. To get a blue hue, add one large-cut violet cabbage to another base. For brown color, add 4 tbsp. coffee grounds, and finally, for yellow color - 5 tablespoons of turmeric. Each paint should be brought to a boil, and then cook over low heat (note the time for each paint).

Beetroot - simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, then strain through a sieve and allow to cool.

Paint from violet cabbage - languor over low heat for 20 minutes, then strain through a sieve and allow to cool.

Coffee paint - frying over low heat for 10 minutes, strain through a coffee filter and allow to cool.

The paint from turmeric should only last 2-3 minutes, stir the turmeric until it dissolves completely, pour into another container and allow to cool (do not filter).

Once the paint has cooled to room temperature, carefully add boiled eggs there and leave in the refrigerator until you get the desired shade.

On the photo (above) the eggs are not yet so bright colors, so you can leave them in the paint for the night, and the shade will become much brighter (photo below).

Carefully remove them and allow to dry, placing on a paper towel or napkin. Leave the eggs in the fridge until it is served on the table. Eggs look beautiful and natural, unlike eggs, stained with artificial colors.
