How to change the water in the aquarium?

To maintain the ecosystem in a satisfactory condition, aquarists remove the formed contaminants, harmful to the fish. In an aquarium, as a rule, changing the water is not difficult, but still the process takes time and some knowledge.

Most often it is practiced to remove 10% of liquid per week or 20-25% every half a month. To deviate from this ratio in the direction of increase is impractical, as the established conditions are violated, which can damage the ecosystem. Completely change the water is necessary, as a rule, only in rare cases, when the conditions in the aquarium are violated cardinally with the appearance of mucus.

Sequencing

The basic rule is that the water should stand for a week to weather the chlorine. Practice shows - to properly change the water, it is poured in for settling immediately, as the next portion is filled into the aquarium.

Perform the procedure in a certain sequence:

  1. Turn off electrical appliances.
  2. A clean cloth wipes the glass on the inside.
  3. Pruning plants.
  4. Wash the filter .
  5. The drain is installed below the water level in the aquarium. The liquid is drained into the bucket by means of a hose, which is placed at one end near the bottom.
  6. Pump the air out of the tube with a siphon. Sometimes the air is sucked up by the mouth, and not to swallow dirty water you need to be careful. When the liquid is at the lips, the hose is placed in a bucket.
  7. Wait until the aquarium leaves as much water as it is planned to replace.
  8. Take out the hose.
  9. Pour the prepared liquid, trying to soften the head, for example, by substituting a plate.
  10. Turn on electrical appliances.

Quickly, without assertion, you can change the water in the aquarium if you buy special additives, as they neutralize harmful substances.
