Heparin is a drug that is an anticoagulant of direct action, that is, it inhibits blood clotting. This drug is produced in the form of forms for external use and liquid for injection. But most often use a solution of Heparin, as it quickly begins to slow the formation of fibrin.
Indications for use of Heparin

Method of application of Heparin
The fastest effect occurs after intravenous injection of Heparin. Those who have had an intramuscular injection will not be able to act until after fifteen or thirty minutes, and if the injection is made under the skin, then Heparin's action will begin in about an hour.
When this drug is prescribed as a preventive measure, most often put a subcutaneous injection in the stomach for five thousand units. Between such injections there should be intervals from 8 to 12 hours. It is strictly forbidden to chop Heparin subcutaneously into the same place.
For treatment, different doses of this drug are used, which are selected by the doctor depending on the nature and type of the disease and the individual characteristics of the patient's body. Neither administering injections of Heparin into the abdomen, nor using the drug with other medications, can be prescribed without warning of the doctor, since such an anticoagulant interacts with many medications. But here simultaneously to apply Heparin and vitamins or biologically active additives it is possible without fear.
To dilute the drug use physiological solution, since it can not be mixed with other medicines in one syringe. Features of the introduction of Heparin are that after intramuscular administration, the formation of hematomas, and with long-term treatment with this medicine, there may be side effects:

- migraine-like pain.
Contraindications to the use of Heparin
With caution, Heparin should be used during pregnancy and during breast-feeding. Only after consulting a doctor can this medication be used for those who suffer from a polyvalent allergy.
Do not put a shot of Heparin in the abdomen, intravenously or intramuscularly, if the patient identified:
- stomach ulcer;
- ulcerative colitis ;
- impaired liver function;
- malignant neoplasms in the digestive tract;
- subacute bacterial endocarditis;
- impaired renal function;
- arterial hypertension;
- hemorrhagic stroke;
- hypersensitivity to the drug.
Also, do not use the drug for those who have recently had surgery on the eyes, brain, liver or prostate.
