It's no secret that many gardeners use fungicides in their practice. These substances give plants the necessary protection against numerous diseases, without which their fruiting would be impossible. So, often fruit trees suffer from scab, moniliosis, powdery mildew and other diseases, negating all the laborious work of gardeners.
One of such preparations for processing of plants is "Horus" - a fungicide having a systemic effect. Horus protects against diseases such as scab , alternaria seed and moniliasis stone fruit crops. This product is used for apricot, plum, cherry, peach, cherry, grapes.
Spraying with the fungicide "Horus" at the beginning of the growing season will prevent disease with scab in apples and pears. The drug "Horus" is successfully used to protect the grapes from gray and white rot.
The preparation "Horus" - composition and advantages
The main active substance of this drug is cyprodinil, which belongs to the chemical class of aminopyrimidines.
"Horus" is available in the form of water-dispersible granules. The manufacturer of the drug is the Swiss company "Syngenta".
The advantages of the preparation "Horus" in comparison with its less effective analogs are:
- protects even in cool weather;
- anti-resistant due to a new active substance;
- not washed off by rain, completely absorbed by the plant;
- is produced in a convenient form;
- has a lower rate of consumption than other contact preparations.
The effectiveness of using the drug will be higher if you alternate Horus with Topaz or Skor. They can also be combined, making so-called "tank mixtures" (2 in 1): together, these drugs provide complete protection.
Application of the preparation "Horus"
The drug "Horus" is used both for the prevention and treatment of the already manifested disease.
As a rule, the package contains 2 g of the drug. All contents of the pack are diluted with water. Its amount depends on what kind of culture you are going to spray, and against which disease you are fighting. For example, for the stone fruit culture, which suffers from coccomicosis, clusterosporiosis, fruit rot or monilial burn, the amount of water per 2 g of the preparation usually does not exceed 5-6 liters. When curling leaves, which sometimes suffer from peaches, it is recommended to use 8-10 liters of water. To process the seeds (apple, pear, quince) take 10 liters. Spray plants "Horus" should be in windless dry weather, choosing for the procedure, either the morning or evening hours. Leaves should be moistened evenly. The water evaporates very quickly, leaving a thin film on the foliage of plants. Therefore, it is not necessary to carry out the spraying procedure immediately before the rain. Already after 2 hours after treatment, the protective film will not wash, and the preparation will continue its action, penetrating into the plant tissues for 2-3 hours. Prophylactic protection of Horus is valid for 7-10 days, and the therapeutic effect is 36 hours.

Do not spray plants with "Horus" during the last month after harvesting the seeds. For stone fruit, this period is 2 weeks.
It should be noted that "Horus" refers to those few drugs that are effective even in early spring. Due to the fact that the temperature of the effect of the preparation "Horus" starts from + 3 ° С, you can do preventive spraying even before the beginning of vegetation, preventing fungal diseases of plants during the coming season. However, keep in mind that at an air temperature above + 25 ° C, Horus is no longer as effective.
