Costa Dorada - tourist attractions

Spain is a country in which ancient history and modernity are intertwined.

Costa Dorada - the southern part of Catalonia, where the mild Mediterranean climate reigns, is closed from the winds by the Catalan and Pyrenean mountains. Thanks to this natural protection, it is very warm here, and the shallow waters of the seaside quickly warm up, which makes the resort a comfortable resting place.

Spain, Costa Dorada - what to see?

"Golden Coast", and this is how the name of Costa Dorada is translated, is the focus of many of Spain's sights.

The complex of small towns, of which the famous resort consists, is connected with the capital of Catalonia - Barcelona by modern highways and high-speed railway.

Costa Dorada: Tarragona

Tarragona - the provincial capital of South Catalonia is full of centuries of history. There are preserved buildings of the times of Ancient Rome - an aqueduct 200 meters long and an amphitheater built in the 2nd century AD. The Middle Ages is represented by a fortress wall consisting of stone blocks.

The height of the Cathedral of St. Mary, built in the Gothic style, almost 90 meters, makes it the most majestic Christian church in Europe. The architectural monuments of Tarragona are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Costa Dorada: Port Aventura

Not far from the resort town of Salou is the first theme park of Spain - Port Aventura. Its area, more than 117 hectares, is divided into 5 sectors, each of which has a design subordinated to a specific idea: the Wild West, Ancient China, the Mediterranean, Mexico and Polynesia. In the vast space of the entertainment complex there are 40 attractions, 23 restaurants and 22 shops. Every day in the park there are shows with national colors. Some park attractions are world famous. The "Bermuda Triangle" swimming pool with "artificial wave" function, bubbling geysers, beautiful water bars and a blue lagoon for toddlers provide a variety of impressions obtained from interaction with water. At the park complex there are two high class hotels. Tourists staying in hotels have advantages in the form of free use of attractions, and they are given the opportunity to visit the VIP-zone when visiting show programs.

Costa Dorada: Calafell

Calafell - a small resort town - is not without reason called "the pearl of Costa Dorada". The historical roots of the settlement go back to the Iberian era, so the city has a lot of ancient architectural buildings. Numerous healing springs, curative mud and unusual sea water with a very high iodine content make Calafell a unique balneological resort.

Comfortable beaches with gentle slopes, unusually fine saturated gold color sand and transparent water of ultramarine color give this place a special attraction for a full rest.

Evening can be spent in the restaurants of the city, offering extremely tasty and useful national cuisine.
