Some historical information
Castle Cost was built in the first half of the XIV century. Since that time, there have been small renovations, but the building has been beautifully preserved. It is also remarkable that this is the only structure of this type that has retained its gothic appearance. During the reconstruction of the castle, it was not attempted to be altered in the Neo-Gothic or some other style, so that in our time it looks approximately the same as in the middle of the 14th century.
Castle Cost in the Czech Republic did not have a permanent owner. Beginning in 1414, he constantly changed hands, and in 1948 was confiscated by the government. At the same time, the museum opened a museum of Gothic and non-Renaissance art. It existed until 1992, when Kost was returned to his official heirs. The castle is still in private possession to this day.

How to get to Castle Cost?
The fortress is located 80 km northeast of Prague . You can reach it in several ways. The most convenient option is a car. It will be necessary to go to Sobotka, and from there - following the signs.
Going by bus, you will need to make a transfer in Turnov , Sobotka or in Mlada-Boleslav , where there are already direct buses to Podkost station. From there to the castle is 1.5 km on foot.
Trains from the Central Station in Prague go to Libochovice , from where it takes about 2.5 km to walk to Castle Cost. There is a convenient walking route.
