Cancers of the lungs, skin, breast, gastrointestinal tract and internal sex organs are the main causes of death among men and women of different age categories.
But we will not be immediately on the sad, but it is better to talk about how to avoid such a fate. And in particular, how to recognize in time the cancer of the cervix and the body of the uterus, to which women are more exposed after 50 years. After all, diagnosed oncological disease at times increases the chances of a full recovery.
What are the symptoms of uterine cancer?
About that the preventive examination at the gynecologist should be at least once a year, every woman knows. But, it would be said. Some believe that they are absolutely healthy, and there is nothing to do, others know that they need to go, but they are afraid to hear a disappointing diagnosis, and still others do not allocate free time and money at all, referring to the constant employment and financial difficulties.
But to determine the presence of this disease is difficult, as in most women, uterine cancer, or the endometrium does not show any symptoms for a long time. Only at later stages, when the tumor has increased or has released metastases, an alarm signal can serve as:
- The first symptom of uterine cancer in postmenopause, and not only, is uncharacteristic bleeding. Any spotting that appears after intimacy, physical activity, defecation is a cause for concern.
- If a woman has not yet stopped menstruating, then a sign of oncology may be a violation of the menstrual cycle.
- Atypical watery or purulent discharge, which are accompanied by itching, burning, unpleasant odor. Most often, these signs indicate a sexual infection, but the tumor can not be discounted. Therefore, without appropriate diagnosis, you can not prescribe treatment and draw any conclusions.
- Pain, especially at rest, appears much later. It can be aching or drawing sensations. If the tumor has sprouted in the urinary tract, the process of urination becomes difficult.
- Some patients who had uterine cancer diagnosed had swelling of the uterus and vagina. At the same time, there was a feeling of the presence of a foreign object in the vagina.
Severe pain and heavy bleeding, as a rule, appear already in the late stages, when the diagnosis is already set. Also, at this stage, the clinical picture is supplemented by a decrease in body weight, weakness and a pronounced malaise.
That's why, the only way to determine and start treatment for cancer on time is a preventive examination, ultrasound and the delivery of the necessary tests.
The first symptoms of cervical cancer in women
A rare type of cancer is cervical cancer. Basically, women with malignant formation on the neck after 40-55 years, but there are cases when the disease is diagnosed in young and nulliparous girls.
Symptoms of cervical cancer differ little from the characteristic symptoms when the tumor is localized in the uterus itself.
Thus, the first alarm sign is the appearance:
- periodic bleeding (most often occur after sexual intercourse or gynecological examination);
- whitish-gray discharge (testify to the onset of tumor disintegration and damage to lymphatic vessels);
- pain (severe pain is characteristic of the last stages of the disease).
An indication of the germination of cervical cancer can be the following symptoms:
- swelling of the extremities and external genital organs;
- violation of the process of urination and defecation;
- fistula formation;
- retention of urine and, as a result, deprivation of the kidney's ability to work, formation of hydronephrosis and general poisoning of the body.
