Hematuria in women - what is it?

Violation, in which there is an admixture of blood in the urine, is called hematuria. There are 2 types of such a state. In the first case, the presence of cells in the blood in the urine can be learned only after a microscopic examination - microhematuria. The form in which there is an admixture of blood in the urine, determined visually, is called machematuria. The urine becomes red in this case.

What types of hematuria exist?

Having told that this is hematuria, which is observed even among women, we will consider the main types of this disorder.

So, it is customary to distinguish 3 types of disturbances, which differ sharply from each other in symptomatology:

With an initial hematuria, an admixture of blood in the urine appears only at the end of the urethra. Most often, this kind of form is observed with the disease of the neck of the bladder.

In terminal form, the source from which blood is released is located directly in the cavity of the bladder or the urethra itself. Typically, this type of violation is typical for diseases such as urolithiasis, a tumor of the genitourinary system, the formation of ulcers.

Total hematuria is manifested when the source of bleeding is localized directly in one of the kidneys. Unlike the forms listed above, this is characterized by the fact that urine acquires a pronounced red color, as is often said - "the color of cherry jam." In addition, a portion of urine can often detect blood clots.

It should also be noted that often by source of origin, the disease is divided into a specific and nonspecific forms. So, the appearance of the first is due to the effect on the genitourinary system of sexual infection ( chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis). If we talk about what is nonspecific hematuria, then this disease, triggered primarily by the influence on the urinary system of external factors (trauma, hypothermia), as well as pathogenic microorganisms (staphylococcus, E. coli).

How is the treatment treated?

It must be said that the therapeutic process can be started only when the cause of the disease is accurately established. At the same time hematuria treatment has 2 main directions: elimination of the factor that caused disturbance and normalization of urination.

If hematuria is of infectious origin, antibiotics are prescribed. If the appearance of blood is caused by the presence of concrements, they are crushed and removed from the urinary system.
