Felt is a wonderful material for needlework. It is thick enough and hard to hold the shape, but it is easy to handle and suitable for sewing, even manually. That's why the variety of crafts made of felt are so popular: baskets, pots, pots, phone cases, purses and, of course, toys. The felt toy will be an excellent assistant to the mother in the development of the small motor skills of her baby, since the fabric is extremely pleasant to the touch, and in order to enhance the useful effect, it is possible to fill the toy with a grain of material, for example, silica gel, buckwheat, rice.
We bring to your attention the idea of making birds from felt, which can become both great toys for the baby, and an excellent interior decoration. How to make a bird from felt with your hands?
We need:
- flaps of felt in different colors, in this case pink, blue and red;
- thread under the color of the fabric;
- material for packing;
- needle;
- template for making birds from felt.
Progress
- We print out a pattern for making birds from felt on A4 sheet, transfer it to fabric, cut out.
- Using a manual "blanket" seam, sew the wings to the halves of the bird.
- Fold the halves face inward and lay the machine seam along the top edge.
- Now we take a detail of the abdomen of the bird and combine it with one of the lower edges of both halves.
- We are laying the machine stitch.
- Combine the edges of the abdomen and the other halves.
- Also we make a seam. The tail edge remains unshared.
- We fill the bird with filler.
- Secret stitch sew a tail. The bird of their felt is ready.
