In the Israeli city ​​of Haifa, there is a beautiful place that is compared to a miracle of the world, it is the Bahai Gardens. This territory is the place of residence of the believers in the Bahá'ís. Such a religion was formed relatively recently in the XIX century, when all religions waited for the second coming of God.

History of the Bahai Gardens

In 1944, a young man, Siyyid Ali-Muhammad, appeared in the city, who abbreviated himself as "Bab", stated that he saw a message from God and began to publish his divine revelations. The main idea he carried was the unity of all beliefs, but the Islamic faith did not support him. However, a simple people followed him, and the Islamic clergy decided to exterminate all followers. According to estimates, about 20 thousand people were shot, but people continued to reach out to this preacher. Then came the follower of Baba, Bahá'u'lláh, who spread the faith, despite the fact that he was persecuted, and he even visited prisoners in prison.

How were the Bahai Gardens created in Haifa?

The Bahai Gardens were created with the funds of Baha'i followers. The architect Fariborz Sahba was to create a creation that conformed to the teachings of the Bahá'ís. Many travelers who want to see this landmark wonder: where are the Bahai Gardens? They are located throughout the territory of Mount Carmel, this area belonged to the Universal House of Justice. He decided to design such a garden ensemble, which will please the eye of the believer and, therefore, the garden will be in the joy of God.

1. Initially, the entire garden area was divided into 19 terraces, which were characterized as the Bab with their 18 pupils. These terraces were of different sizes and surrounded by the top and bottom of the Bahai temple, which is the grave of the Bab, which was the mausoleum of the tomb.
2. Outwardly the temple looks very rich, a huge gilded dome, tall columns and marble walls, but when you get inside, you get into a modest shrine.
3. From the Temple down there goes a ladder with many steps, on each side of which there are grooves and streams of water coming down. By law only true Baha'is have the right to climb this ladder.
4. Around the Shrine itself, 9 circles are depicted, which are characterized by Baha'i holy days in the calendar.
5. Bahai Gardens in Haifa are strewn with numerous plant varieties, among which you can see the amazing greenery in form. 8. In this territory grows and olive, because it is usually considered a divine tree. It appeared in the days of Solomon, and today its oil is used in sacred rituals. Magnificent oaks also grow in abundance in this territory.
9. In the Bahai Gardens there are carob trees, their fruits resemble bread, which according to the legend was fed by John the Baptist, wandering through the desert. The tree of Sycamore, which is still called the Egyptian fig tree, is a symbol of well-being and prosperity.
10. In addition to green spaces in the garden is a huge number of fountains, in some of them drinking water flows. This water from the fountains goes down the indentations down the stairs, then it enters the filters, and from there it appears again in the fountains.
11. To get to Israel in the Bahai gardens, you need to go under the high cast iron gate, on their sides are statues of eagles. In the center of the entrance is a round fountain with sunny patterns on the tile.

How to get there?

To get to the Bahai Gardens, you need to get to the city of Haifa , which is 90 km from Tel Aviv and 160 km from Jerusalem . You can get to Haifa from these cities and other large settlements by train or by bus. Next, take the bus route number 23, which takes you to the stop Hanassi Avenue, and from there go to the entrance to the gardens a few hundred meters.
