Neurasthenic syndrome

Neurasthenia is a consequence of prolonged psychological stress, which leads to asthenia, that is, exhaustion. Neurasthenic syndrome may be a symptom of the presence of other diseases - brain tumors, atherosclerosis, hypertension, as well as the consequence of head injuries.

Symptoms

The astheno-neurasthenic syndrome develops in stages. At first, ordinary irritability arises, often without any reason. The patient irritates everyone - people, the need to communicate, the slightest noise. Also at this stage, a person is suffering from insomnia, headaches, constant fatigue and reduced performance.

Further fatigue becomes chronic - it is a signal about the second stage of the disease. Even rest does not help to restore working capacity, the patient has to tackle any case with bright, characteristic reluctance, and then throw from impotence. Symptoms of neurasthenic syndrome at this stage are also tearfulness and mood swings.

The third stage is already a serious nervous breakdown. Complete absence of working capacity and thus constant drowsiness, fatigue, irritability. Apathy, pronounced depression, and, of course, completely lost interest and participation in life.

Treatment

In principle, the disorder can occur due to constant lack of sleep, beriberi, stress. Therefore, treatment of neurasthenic syndrome should begin with the establishment of order in the regime of the day.

Stable 7-8 hours sleep, fruits and vegetables , no overload, failure of coffee, strong tea and alcohol.

If this does not help and the disease is already running, of course, you should contact a psychologist who prescribes psychotherapy, as well as soothing drugs. Also often used are acupuncture, physiotherapy and sanatorium treatment.
