Do sharks live in Thailand?

Unfortunately, in the waters that wash the shores of Thailand - the Andaman and South China Seas, the Gulf of Thailand - these dangerous predators are actually found. Another thing is that they are infrequent visitors to places where tourists and locals usually rest. In addition, according to the natives, they do not recall cases of attacks by sharks in Thailand. It is believed that marine dwellers avoid swimming in coastal areas, and therefore they should not be afraid.

Regarding what sharks are found in Thailand, first of all it should be pointed out that among them there are also dangerous species: white shark, whale shark, black shark, huge tiger shark up to 25 m long. Less aggressive can be called leopard shark and gray Shark, Mako shark and hammerhead shark.

Despite the lack of evidence of attacks by sharks in Thailand, tourists should be on their guard. The behavior of even the safest shark is so difficult to predict. 2. If there is a bleeding wound or a scratch, refrain from swimming in the open sea. The slightest concentration of blood in sea water can attract even the most innocuous shark.
3. Prefer beaches with clear clear water, as sharks prefer to live in muddy waters, for example, near sewage of industrial enterprises, estuaries of rivers.
