And, of course, having arrived in Anapa, you can not ignore the numerous interesting places that can be visited as part of tourist groups, and independently.

The Oceanarium in Anapa

One of the youngest but most impressive oceanariums in Russia, "Ocean Park" is located on Pioneer Avenue and is part of the sea complex, which is united by the name "Anapsky Dolphinarium-Oceanarium". He offers an acquaintance with the most interesting inhabitants of the underwater world, who have created ideal living conditions, as close to natural as possible thanks to modern cleaning systems, lighting, maintaining the optimal chemical composition of water.

Anapa lighthouse

The lighthouse is an integral element of the seaside landscape, in Anapa it has become a popular meeting place for both local residents and numerous tourists. Its fire rises 43 meters above sea level and is visible from a distance of 18.5 nautical miles. The current lighthouse, established in 1955, is an octagonal tower, intersected horizontally by three black stripes. Its predecessor was installed and put into operation at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries and destroyed during the Great Patriotic War.

The Russian Gate in Anapa

In fact, the well-known gate is a monument of Ottoman architecture, as it is the remains of a Turkish fortress built in 1783, and they received their name in honor of the 20th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the Turkish yoke in 1828. The fortress itself, consisting of 7 bastions and stretching for 3.2 kilometers, was not preserved. 1995-1996 gates were restored, next to it was installed a stele of memory of Russian soldiers who died near the fortress walls in 1788-1728.

Museums of Anapa

Despite the wealth of historical and cultural heritage, in Anapa there are only two museums operating today - local history and archaeological museums, but they, which are of the most interesting exposition, unfortunately are not popular. The Museum of Local Lore offers exhibitions devoted to the history of the city, mainly in the XX century, in summer, additional expositions are regularly opened there, brought mainly from other Russian cities. The museum building itself, decorated with military equipment and the attributes of the Great Patriotic War, is interesting.

Archaeological Museum of Anapa is an excavation of the ancient city of Gorgippia, founded by Greek immigrants in the V century BC. In addition to the open-air museum, the complex includes several exhibition halls with exhibits of the Greek period.

Temple of Seraphim of Sarov in Anapa

During the reign of Khrushchev, religious persecution began and the church of St.Onufry was closed. The church community, not reconciled to the loss of the sanctuary, initiated the collection of funds for which a house was purchased, which was turned into a prayer house and sanctified as a new temple of Saint Onuphrius. For a long time it was the only active temple in Anapa. After the church's return to the church building in 1992, the prayer house was re-consecrated in honor of Seraphim of Sarov. In 2005, the construction of a new temple of Serafim Sarovsky in Anapa on Mayakovsky Street was started.
