The concept of the Yaroslavl Zoo

Magnificent zoo is located in the picturesque area of Zavolzhsky district of Yaroslavl not far from Smolensk boron. The opening of this institution occurred quite recently - on August 20 in 2008.

If we talk about the main idea of the zoo in Yaroslavl, it is worth pointing out that the organizers decided to immediately leave the inhuman content of animals in cages. Therefore, the concept of the institution assumes maximum comfort for the inhabitants. That is why animals in the Yaroslavl Zoo are kept in large enclosures and in conditions that are as close as possible to natural ones. This is possible due to the rather extensive territory of the institution - the zoo occupies just over 120 hectares. Thus, the menagerie in Yaroslavl is a perfect example of a landscape type zoo.

But in addition to favorable conditions for the life of pets, the zoo considers the main objectives to preserve the gene pool of wild animals, in particular endangered species, and to convey to visitors the importance of preserving the diversity of the fauna of our planet. These goals are achieved thanks to the so-called "contact" site, where the visitor is given the opportunity to get to know some animals closer. A close acquaintance is possible in the "Ark" demonstration and training center, where various representatives of fauna and flora live in the building.
