How to sew a watermelon suit: master class №1

This suit consists of two elements - a coverall and a beret. As the main material for making such a costume, you will need crepesatin of dark and light shades of green, as well as scarlet chiffon and a narrow white satin ribbon. Also you need black cardboard and a long zipper.

Begin to sew with overalls. To do this, we take measurements from the child: the length of the desired product, the girth of the waist, hips, legs and hands. As a lightweight option - you can instead of constructing a pattern simply attach to the light green fabric of your child's overalls and circle.

To make the costume more voluminous, we make additional allowances, and we attach sleeves and trousers to the elastic bands. Our watermelon will come out round and plump.

On the sides and hands of the overalls we make inserts of scarlet chiffon, and on the seam which connects the green and red fabrics we lay a white satin ribbon. To suit was more like a watermelon, decorate it with strips of dark green satin.

Near the neck we sew a large collar in the form of a water-melon slice, and to make the neck look lush, insert the elastic along the entire cut. On the back we sew the zipper.

We decorate the costume with cardboard "seeds", and for the sake of persuasiveness we open them with colorless nail varnish. We glue them to the red details on the usual PVA glue.

As a headdress we sew a cap of any style from a light atlas, it is possible to sew an ordinary beret. We decorate it with a dark satin in a water-melon strip. The suit is ready! This watermelon suit is suitable for both girls and boys.

To make this suit we will begin with the cap. To do this, from 6 identical cardboard parts we sew such a headgear, we sew on it a sintepon, which we subsequently trim with a green satin. As a result, a pretty solid hat will turn out.

From the same green satin we sew overalls on straps. In the straps, you can insert an elastic band, and seal the legs with the same sintepon, so that they form a watermelon roundness.

From the red satin we sew a water-melon slice, stuff it with a sintepon, turn it over with a green cloth and decorate it with "seeds" - they can simply be painted with a black marker. We sew the watermelon slice to the overalls. It remains only to find a suitable turtleneck or t-shirt of solid green color or striped. You can hurry on holiday!
