The capital of Poland is Warsaw, spread out on the bank of the Vistula. Warsaw is not only the political and business center of the Slavic state, but also the concentration of the culture of the Polish people.

What to see in Warsaw?

The main sights of Warsaw are in the historical center of the city - Stare Miasto (Old Town). Those tourists who have found themselves in this part of the capital have a feeling of unreality: the facades of houses in the Renaissance style along the streets. Cozy cafes, shops and shops remind of the Middle Ages. Due to its uniqueness, Stare Miasto is listed in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 1980.

Palace of Radziwills

Frederic Chopin Museum

The Chopin Museum in Warsaw, with more than 5,000 exhibits in its collection, is one of the most unusual museums in Europe. Ultra-modern design allows you to listen to the composer's works, performed by the best orchestras of the world, touch screens introduce the interiors of Chopin's rooms in the village of Zhelyazova-Volya. IT-technologies recreate holographic images of the inhabitants of the XIX century, and the smell of violets (the composer's favorite scent) fills the museum halls.

Copernicus Museum

Nikolai Copernicus is another brilliant Pole with world status. Strictly speaking, there are several Copernican museums in Poland. This is the Copernicus' house in ToruĊ„, and Frombork is a house-museum where the famous scientist lived and worked for many years. The Museum of Copernicus in Warsaw, in fact, is the Science Center. In this unique museum you can touch the exhibits with your hands, learning the main laws of physics. Spending a day at the Center together with children, you can take part in the staging of scientific experiments that cause earthquakes, tornadoes and learn about the advanced achievements of science.

Lazienki Park

The most cozy place in Warsaw is Lazienki Park. Pavilions, fountains, greenhouses, numerous statues give a unique view to the ancient park ensemble. In this place it is forbidden to make noise, play sports. But you can wander through the picturesque alleys, enjoying the singing of birds. You can admire the peacocks, who fearlessly walk along the paths, feed the frightened squirrels, carp. Near the monument to Chopin lovers of classical music with pleasure listen to his sonatas and mazurkas.

Palace of Culture and Science

The tallest building in Warsaw is the Palace of Culture and Science. Its height is 167 m, and together with the spire it is 230 m. From the height of the 30th floor, a dizzying view of the Polish capital opens. A grand building in the style of "Stalin Empire" accommodates many offices, conference rooms. In addition, there are several museums, a modern cinema, a huge swimming pool. International fairs are currently held at the Palace of Culture and Science.

Visiting historical places in Warsaw can be diversified by visiting entertainment centers and shops. A great place for recreation is the Warsaw Zoo - a zoo and Wodny Park - a water park in one of the suburbs of the city. In the nightclub Tygmont jazz it is possible to spend a wonderful evening for "live" music. Shopping fans in Poland are advised to visit the huge shopping center Arkadia, which has more than 200 shops, many restaurants and coffee shops.
