Wall mounted ceramic fan heater

One of the most popular independent or auxiliary heaters is a wall-mounted ceramic fan heater. In its appearance it resembles a thermal curtain or an indoor unit of a split system. He has a lot of merits, which are worth getting to know better, but there are also drawbacks.

Device design

The main components of this device are a fan and a heating element. The first sucks air from the room into the device, where it heats up, and after the flows are sent back, gradually warming up the air throughout the volume. As for the fans, they are of two kinds: tangential and axial. The first are large in size, which allows them to surpass large amounts of air masses. At the same time, the noise level is minimal. Axial rotates with a greater frequency, which ensures their high productivity. However, the level of noise created is higher, although wall fan heaters for home often install tangential fans.

A ceramic heating element is obtained by pressing the powder and then calcining in an oven at a high temperature. The finished ceramic plate is equipped with a large number of tiny orifices, through which air masses pass, driven by a fan. At the same time, their heating is carried out at a higher speed compared to the nichrome spiral models of past years or tubular TEN. In addition, the fan heater can have a ceramic heating element both from glass ceramics and cermets. The latter in their characteristics are not much different from spiral models, therefore their fire safety is much lower than that of the nearest colleague.

Advantages and disadvantages

Perhaps the main advantage is the very rapid warming up of the room. The productivity of such heaters is 50 cubic meters of air per hour or more. Other advantages of ceramic heat fans for a house include:

In addition, such heating devices are often equipped with additional functions that significantly increase the convenience and comfort during operation. So, the availability of additional air filters will be appreciated by allergy sufferers, because they do not allow particles of dust to fly around the room together with air masses. Ionizers of air can saturate it with useful ions, and humidifiers solve the problem with increased dryness. The device can work as a normal fan in the summer, and also have splash protection, which makes it possible to hang it on the wall in the bathroom.

Such a fan heater will cost much more than its spiral counterpart, but for convenience and own security it makes sense and overpay.
