Types of interior doors

When our parents were engaged in repair, we did not have to choose especially, and as a result, in almost every apartment there were familiar to many interior doors painted with white enamel. Now we have the opportunity to select the types of mechanisms and coatings for interior doors.

Types of interior doors by material

For obvious reasons, the most expensive and presentable today are still products from solid wood. This is an excellent choice if you plan to make repairs qualitatively and fill the apartment with decent things, including doors. These doors are made of glued and solid wood. Of course, all the advantages of wood are always reflected in the price of the product. However, it is worth adding and durability, which will pay off with interest.

More affordable in terms of prices will be such types of coverage of interior doors, as MDF. Usually, for manufacturing, an array of pine is taken, which is covered with MDF and topped with veneers. As a result, you also get a completely wooden construction, but its finish layer is covered with a more expensive breed. Veneer is also not afraid of scratches, conveys the texture of the tree as accurately as possible, and even moisture is almost not afraid. The only thing that obviously pushes veneer among the types of interior doors is a fear of light: it fades quite quickly, and in case of serious damage it can not be restored.

Among the types of interior doors, the materials with a lamination are also well recommended. There are budget versions with a laminated paper coating, but there are also more impressive versions with so-called double-faced lamination.

The most rare species are rightly considered to be glass interior doors. It is quite solid and heavy glass with special processing. Due to the drawing, toning and combination with other materials, the glass not only remains cozy and pleasant looking, but also durable.

Types of interior doors and their construction

It does not matter what kind of finish or material you prefer. Much depends also on the type of construction, or rather the mechanism itself. These are the types of mechanisms we will consider in the list below:

  1. Strangely enough, but the system used in the manufacture of euro windows is now quite actively used for door frames. Usually the reason for buying this particular option is the ability to flip the sash and ventilate the room. Most often used for balconies and mansards.
  2. In some interiors, saloon-type doors are quite successful, they can open in both directions and do not have a fixed position.
  3. Many coupe-type options among types of interior doors. It is a glass with metal, and an array of wood, modern polymers. There are even systems for non-standard curvilinear walls, where the doors move apart not in a straight line, but in a small radius.
  4. Among the many types of interior doors and their design, you will definitely like a sliding type system, but without the lower rails. The weight of the door is held by the suspension system, therefore there is no need to cut it off into the floor covering.
  5. In small rooms, books like doors are invaluable. This is a canvas of several leaves, which are folded like an accordion and thus do not take up much space, like swinging mechanisms.
  6. Sometimes a good way out of the situation are turning and sliding systems. You start to open the door in the usual way, but once the door is half open, it will just have to be moved to the side. So you get the usual design of swing doors, but do not face the need to occupy a lot of space when opening.

Thus, you do not have to solve the problem of space deficit or selection of material, since there are plenty of varieties.
