The Viper's Bite - Consequences

Before going to the forest, you need to know about the dangers that lie in wait for a person in this environment. In spring and until mid June, vipers are particularly active, their poison is most toxic. But the bite of this poisonous snake is, rather, an act of protection than a desire to attack. Nevertheless, it is important to know what the consequences may be after a snake's snake bite, how to help the victim in the very first minutes.

How does an adder look like?

The snake has an average size. Males are slightly shorter than females, their length is about 60 cm, females reach a length of 70 cm. In nature, rare specimens that reach one meter in length are seen. The color of the viper is different: from gray or bluish to copper-red, there is also a black one, with a characteristic pattern in the form of a diamond-shaped zigzag along the entire length. In the case of black, the pattern is almost indistinguishable. The triangular head is separated from the rest by a thinner neck.

Consequences after the bite of an ordinary viper for humans

The viper's bite is rather painful, but not fatal. It is necessary to help the victim in time and correctly. The probability of death from a viper bite is very small, it is only 1%. The most vulnerable places are the neck and head of a person, bites for children, elderly or sick people and those who are allergic are also dangerous.

A worried snake rushes at the seeming danger to her - a person. But before the viper attacks, you will hear a characteristic hiss, and then only if she did not manage to hide and considered you potentially dangerous.

So, if the bite has reached its goal, prepare for the possible consequences:

  1. The bite itself gives a sharp pain, there are two bleeding points on the skin. Then the pain grows.
  2. The bite becomes red, swollen.
  3. Adrenaline, which naturally stands out in the body when bitten by fear, plays a negative role - blood pressure rises and the poison spreads faster in the body. Therefore, if you are bitten by a viper, you should try not to panic.
  4. In the aftermath of a viper snake bite, the state of health rapidly deteriorates - the sufferer begins to shiver, although the fever rises.
  5. After a short while, the head begins to spin and hurt.
  6. Difficulty breathing - there is shortness of breath.
  7. The rhythm of heartbeat is broken.
  8. There is a feeling of nausea, vomiting may begin.
  9. After the poison spreads with the bloodstream, the pressure drops, because of poor blood flow to the vital organs, there is sluggishness in the body.
  10. The limbs become pale and cold, the facial features are sharpened.
  11. If the bite fell directly into the superficial vein or artery - this is very dangerous, since the poison will immediately spread throughout the body, and all the consequences of the bite will be greatly accelerated.
  12. Sometimes vision is affected.
  13. There is a coagulation of blood, and if in time to not take measures, as a consequence may necrosis of tissue in the place of bite.
  14. If long time to not take measures, consequences can be those, that serious conditions, such as, for example, a renal failure will start to develop.

The danger of consequences from a viper bite depends on several factors:

Precautionary measures

Going to rest on nature or just in the woods for mushrooms, you have to walk slowly, have a long stick in your hands, with which you can feel the grass and bushes ahead of you. So, if you disturb the snake, it will have time to retreat, and if it decides to attack, you will be at a sufficient distance from it.
