The IVF program

The federal IVF program, which has been implemented for ten years, has become a real salvation for many infertile couples, it's no secret that the cost of this procedure in paid clinics is by no means small, and not every family dreaming about a child can afford it.

Requirements of the state IVF program

To get the right to a free attempt at in vitro fertilization at the present time, it does not need to be an official marriage. Future parents should have a compulsory medical insurance policy, since the IVF program for MHI is financed, both from insurance and state funds.

In addition, the participants of the program must meet certain requirements for health reasons, or rather female half of them. The main condition here is the confirmed infertility factor of the woman (the presence of male infertility is not a basis for inclusion in the program). In addition, partners should not have contraindications to this procedure.

How to get into the IVF program?

  1. First, it is necessary for a woman to have a diagnosis of "infertility", established by a doctor in a female consultation at the place of residence, specifying that in vitro fertilization can give a chance of successful conception.
  2. Secondly, it is necessary to pass a number of tests, including: general tests of urine, blood, feces, pass examinations for urogenital infections, pass a vaginal smear, bacterial sowing from the vagina and cervical canal, to do colposcopy, ultrasound of the small pelvis, spermogram and others.
  3. Thirdly, prepare copies of certain documents: passports, OMS-policies, pension insurance policies.
  4. The collected results of the analyzes and documents must be submitted to the special commission that works with the women's consultation.

Only after receiving a positive result in the consultation, future parents can apply to the Health Committee to apply for participation in the state IVF program.

If the decision is positive, then the pair is put on the waiting list in one of the specialized clinics that are included in the program. But you need to be prepared for the fact that the expectation will not be rapid. After all, if the quotas for the current year end, then the queue moves to the next year. Sometimes from the moment of treatment to the invitation to IVF can take more than a year.

What happens next?

The IVF program includes the following steps:

  1. Stimulation of various drugs superovulation. As a result, in the ovaries of a woman, five to ten eggs are ripened at once (and not one or two, as in the natural cycle).
  2. Puncture of the ovaries for egg production.
  3. Fertilization of oocytes.
  4. Choosing the best embryos and transferring them to the woman's womb.

Within the federal program for each woman in 2014, the amount of 110 thousand rubles is provided, which includes payment: preliminary folliculometry, stimulation of ovulation, puncture of eggs, fertilization procedures and the cultivation of embryos with their subsequent placement in the uterus.

All preliminary studies and analyzes are paid by potential parents on their own.

But do not wait for the procedure of IVF 100% successful result, because even in the most advanced European clinics, the effectiveness of IVF does not exceed 55%, so the only attempt at artificial insemination may not bring the desired result. In this case, the couple can again apply for participation in the program or independently pay for additional attempts.
