Sports swimming

Swimming is a kind of sport, during which the participants of the competition have to overcome a certain distance as quickly as possible. Modern rules prohibit swimming more than 15 meters in a straight line. It is worth noting that the swimming does not include those species that require full immersion in the water with the head - this is already included in the category of "sports scuba diving".

Sports swimming: types

Officially, swimming as a sport includes a number of disciplines, each of which holds competitions of different levels:

Control over water sports is carried out by the International Swimming Federation (FINA), which was founded in 1908.

Ways of sport swimming

To date, there are many styles of swimming: breaststroke, crawl, swimming on the back and butterfly. Let's consider features of each variant.

Crawl (or freestyle)

Here we need explanations for the dual name. Initially, the free style was allowed to swim in any way, arbitrarily changing it during the competition. However, later, beginning in the 1920s, all this variety was replaced by a fundamentally new and swiftly rapid form of swimming - the crawl.

It is believed that the history of the rabbit goes back many centuries, but re-acquaintance and worldwide recognition of this sport was only in the late 19 th century, when the competition was used this style by the Indians from America. However, the Europeans at first considered this style of navigation unnecessarily barbaric, and refused to adopt a unique experience. However, this point of view soon sank into oblivion, and soon the high-speed technique began to be used by athletes from different countries.

Krol is a kind of swimming on the chest, in which the athlete makes a stroke of the right, then the left hand, along with it, raising and lowering his legs. In this case, the athlete's face is in the water, and it only occasionally captures the air, lifting it between the strokes.

Backstroke

Swimming on the back - this kind of voyage is sometimes called "inverted crawl." The movements in this case are similar, but the strokes are made with straight hands, and from the position "on the back".

Breaststroke

Brass is a style of swimming on the chest, during which the athlete swimmer performs symmetrical, simultaneous movements of the hands and feet. This is the oldest and slowest kind of swimming. Due to low power consumption, this style allows you to overcome long distances.

Butterfly (dolphin)

Butterfly is a style of swimming on the chest, during which the swimmer's athlete performs symmetrical, simultaneous strokes of the right and left halves of the body. This is the most energy-consuming style, which requires a high rate of endurance and accuracy.

Training in sports swimming

Traditionally, sports swimming for children is available from 6-7 years. Traditionally, schools teach first to one of the the main styles - a breaststroke or a crochet, and after that goes the development and other variations. Teaching sports swimming will not only give the child a useful hobby, but also make it safe for him to stay at sea and other water bodies.

Now there are a large number of swimming schools for adults, in which any person will be taught easily and fearlessly to stay on the water and overcome any distances. In the course of such exercises, musculature develops and strengthens all over the body, so swimming is a great way to improve your athletic form.
