Recently, the cultivation of this spinach has become popular in Russia. It has quite an interesting, you can even tell a mysterious, appearance. This plant with green leaves and fruits, which are insanely like raspberries or strawberries. Although, if you compare the taste of spinach-raspberries and raspberries, they have nothing in common. To be more precise, spinach berries have absolutely no taste, even remotely resembling berry.

Zhminda - cultivation

Spinach-raspberries began to grow on their backyards, many gardeners, since it has very juicy leaves, which, in addition, are also useful. Spinach of this species is completely unpretentious and cold-resistant. It will perfectly grow even in places where there is sandy soil. It can withstand the temperature drop down to -10 ° C in the socket stage. But it does not suffer from heat and drought at all. What is more important - is not afraid of disease and garden pests.

Zhminda is a medium-sized culture. You can grow it in two ways. The first is growing seedlings. The second - by seeds.

Spinach-raspberry - how to grow from seeds?

Planting spinach-raspberries should be immediately as snow falls. In the ranks at a distance of 30-40 cm we plant 3-4 seeds, and the distance between rows is about 40 cm. Immediately after disembarkation, each well should be covered with a jar until the first shoots appear.

When two real leaves appear on each germ, it will be necessary to thin the plant, removing the weaker seedlings. If this is not done, the plant will stretch and bring very small berries. Depending on your desire, you can leave one or two stems in each hole.

Plants that are sown immediately in the open ground will mature in August and will develop much better than those planted with seedlings. From spinach, planted in seedlings, you will get a crop a little earlier, in July. Well, in order to enjoy strawberry spinach in June, it is worth taking care of the subsea seeding.

If the berries that are ripe remain on the branches, they will eventually fall down, but they will be perfectly preserved under the snow cover and with the onset of spring they will give excellent new shoots. Therefore, if you are going to plant this miracle plant in your garden, consider in advance the restriction of its spreading by self-seeding.
