However, in order to fully enjoy the privacy in the allotted area, it is necessary to protect it from the sounds emanating from the common room. And this will help soundproof materials, namely:

How to make a partition of gypsum board with soundproofing?
Installation of the partition will be carried out in several stages:
- Markup . To do this, you need a laser level that projects a grid of coordinates on the walls. In accordance with the marking, the carcass elements are cut out. Here you can use wooden beams or metal profiles. The second option is more practical and less time consuming to install.
- Mounting the frame . Vertical racks of the frame must be installed in steps of 600 mm. The fastening should be strong enough, because the frame will serve as the basis for gypsum boards.
- Filling with soundproof material . Place the plates in the space between the posts. In our case, these are acoustic mats based on fiberglass. When filling the voids, make sure that the material is snug against the partition and does not form any gaps. Otherwise, the noise absorption level will be significantly reduced.
- Sheathing . To the metal frame, attach the sheets of plasterboard. If you want to improve the quality of sound insulation, then on the sheathed wall you can mount another layer. The seams need to be shifted by 15-20 cm.
- Final touches . When the walls are fully sheathed, the seams should be treated with a special sealant. This is done to minimize the sound permeability in the room. After this, the walls can be safely putty and decorate with wallpaper or other finishing material.
