The main task of the woman during the entire period of pregnancy, there remains the need to remain calm and not be afraid of the arising sensations, at every opportunity to ask questions to your leading doctor - gynecologist.
To fights, as well as other manifestations of pregnancy, it is necessary to be ready psychologically and not to fear before them, as it can provoke stronger painful sensations, from which it is more difficult to get rid of. The first precursors of approaching labor are the training cuts of the uterus.
Braxton-Hicks contractions
The first symptoms of labor can begin to disturb a woman from the twentieth week, however, this is not a birth but a false, training bout. Such fights are named after Braxton-Hicks, they have the same symptoms as the birth ones, but they arise rarely and irregularly. The uterus is a muscle, which means that she needs training to prepare for the process of labor. This is the purpose of this phenomenon. False contractions differ from the present in less painful, and often complete absence of pain. In order to relieve the tension of the uterus during false bouts, sometimes it is enough to take a warm shower, drink clean water, get comfortable and relax.
Symptoms of labor before delivery
Contractions during pregnancy are accompanied by the following symptoms:
- In the lumbar region, aching pain begins, passing to the abdomen and pelvis;
- discomfort, reminiscent of sensations with menstruation;
- unpleasant sensations similar to sensations in diarrhea;
- sensation of fossa of the uterus.
Given the common symptoms of labor before delivery, doctors distinguish three phases of their onset:
- Initial or latent.
- Active.
- Transitional.
Each phase of the onset of contractions has certain characteristics. Some compare fights to a wave, which gradually grows and intensifies, and then also gradually recedes.
For the initial degree, the duration is from seven to eight hours, with the duration of each fight about 20 seconds. Break between contractions - about 15 minutes.
The second, active stage, lasts from three to five hours. The duration of one fight can reach a minute, the gap between them decreases to two to four minutes. With this, the pain intensifies.
Transitional - the shortest phase, preceding the birth, lasts from half an hour to an hour and a half. It is also marked by the highest morbidity. Contractions, lasting 1-1.5 minutes, alternate with intervals of 0.5-1 minute. In this phase, the uterus opens up so much that the childbirth begins.
Of course, everything is difficult and scary only the first time. But, if you carefully prepare yourself morally, armed with knowledge and recommendations received from a gynecologist, you can relatively survive the fights. And most importantly, what should every future mother have - support, love and care of loved ones.
