Shampoo with keratin

Every woman wants to have beautiful well-groomed hair, which is not so easy. Under the influence of environmental factors, stresses, use of plaques and other tools, hair often becomes dull, brittle, and begin to be cut. And then the question arises as to how to choose means for care not only with cosmetic, but also with therapeutic effect. This is especially true for shampoos, which we use more often than other means. Recently, among the strengthening and restoring means for hair, various complexes are particularly popular, in particular - shampoos with keratin .

The advantages and disadvantages of keratin shampoos

Keratin is a complex protein, with hair composed of more than 80%. Therefore, their appearance depends on the quantity and condition of keratin cells in the hair.

It is believed that the keratin contained in the shampoo should fill the voids that formed when scales are detached. It kind of "smooths" the hair, making it more smooth and elastic. But it is worth mentioning that shampoo alone will not give a full result, and you can achieve the desired effect only if shampoos with keratin are used in combination with other products (balms, masks and conditioners).

The main function of shampoo is to remove dirt and debris from the hair. Therefore, when using only shampoo, keratin does not remain on the hair in the right amount. In addition, in such drugs, as a rule, hydrolyzed (fragmented) keratin is used, the effect of which is much lower than on the effects of whole molecules of this protein.

At the same time, thin, fat-prone hair becomes more dirty and heavier. True, this effect is usually observed in the case of inexpensive means and is mainly due to the content in them of cheap silicones, and not keratin.

Shampoos containing keratin

As part of the shampoo, keratin is a useful supplement, but when buying it is worth paying attention to the composition as a whole, because the washing formula has a noticeable effect on the hair.

The most common and budgetary brands of such shampoos include Belarusian shampoo with keratin from Viteks and Nivea products.

Balsulfate shampoo with keratin

Most shampoos, especially the lower and middle price range, contain lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate. These are quite aggressive surfactants, which, on the one hand, cleans the hair of fat well, but on the other hand they can dry the scalp.

Bessulfate shampoos - an option much softer, and is best for thin dry hair.

  1. Among shampoos without sulphates with keratin it is worth mentioning the American brand Alterna. The products belong to the highest price category, but, according to reviews, it is considered one of the best presented on the market today.
  2. Also in demand are shampoos of the brand Cocochoco, but they are more aimed at keeping the hair after keratin straightening.
  3. Another brand of shampoo of the same category is BioGOLD shampoo conditioner with keratin and proteins. Has a mild detergent composition, but, like any multifunctional product, is not as effective as specialized shampoos. In addition, thin hair after its application can be electrified.

Shampoo with horse keratin

One of the most common misconceptions about shampoos based on keratin is associated with the so-called horse keratin. Keratin is usually obtained from sheep's wool. Therefore, if you see horse keratin in the composition, this is an inaccuracy of the translation, since in addition to keratin, horse fat is added.

Often under horse keratin means a line of shampoos designed for horses, which have recently become very popular. Such shampoos in composition differ little from those intended for humans, but they are more concentrated and do not contain fragrance fragrances and potential allergens.
