  9. In the Nativity of the Theotokos, those women who could not conceive were begging the Virgin for a speedy conception, and pregnant women asked for an easy and successful pregnancy. On this day, women who do not have children invited orphans and poor people to dinner.

Usually until September 21 the harvesting was over. "Prechista will come - it will be purely-clean." Celebrations were held on this occasion. The more abundant the harvest, the longer the festivities lasted. If the harvest was much celebrated this event within 2 weeks, if the meager harvest, then no more than 3 days.

An invitation to visit the newlyweds was considered mandatory. Young met everyone with a pie, set the table, the guests feasted, shared their experiences. It was believed that the young couple would take into account the favors of the old-timers and their life would be friendly and cloudless.

Another sign is the ignition of a new ray. As on the vernal equinox, on that day the fire was renewed in the huts. The rural year was coming to an end, preparations for a new planting began, so they stewed the old lump and lit a new one and believed that it would drive away the ills, bring luck and a rich harvest.
