Sa Coma

Sa Coma (Mallorca) is a popular resort for families. It is located somewhat south of Cala Millor . Despite the fact that the resort is relatively "young" - it began to develop only in the 80 years of the last century - it has already received a well-deserved popularity. Especially - among tourists from Britain in Germany. In addition to beautiful beaches, there are also no less beautiful hotels, cafes and shops. The resort is quite calm - it's not for nothing that couples and families with children choose it - but the youth here will not get bored, since there are also night entertainments in Sa-Kom as well.

Transport connection

From Palma de Mallorca to Sa Coma - 68 km. From the airport - less, only 55 km, but if you do not take the car for rent , and are going to use municipal transport - you will need to get through Palma. There are several routes, but we would like to draw your attention to the fact that on the east coast the transport rides less often, so if you want to "see as much as possible" it is better to rent a car. You can do this yourself in Sa Coma.

Where to live?

Hotels in Sa Coma are quite comfortable, below 3 * here it is almost impossible to meet the hotel. The best reviews were received by hotels such as Protur Sa Coma Playa 4 *, Protur Biomar Grand Hotel & Spa 5 *, Protur Palmeras Playa, Hipotels Mediterraneo, Protur Vista Badia Aparthotel, Hipotels Marfil Playa, Aparthotel THB Sa Coma Platja, Protur Safari Park Aparthotel, but , in principle, to find hotels in this resort, which would have met negative reviews, it is quite difficult. Many of the hotels are located just five steps from the beach.

If you book a hotel in advance - accommodation in it will cost you significantly cheaper, even in the "high" season. By the way, when choosing a hotel, pay attention: some hotels are designed "only for adults".

Beach season

The beach season at the resort starts in late May-June and lasts until October; on average, the water temperature in October is + 23 ° C, but since the air temperature at that time is no longer too different from the water temperature (average temperature + 22 ° C), then not everything is at risk. However, some people swim here in December, because the water still remains warm enough - on average about +18 ° С.

The beach of Sa Coma is one of Majorca's sights : it is believed that here the sand is the whiteest on the whole island. The length of the beach is 2 km, and its cleanliness and comfort is indicated by the fact that it is regularly awarded with the Blue Flag. The beach is very popular with families with children, not only because of the cleanliness, but also by the very gentle descent into the sea, and almost complete absence of waves. The beach is equipped with children's playgrounds with all sorts of attractions, and adults who prefer active recreation, too, will find here for themselves a lot of interesting: you can rent a catamaran, windsurf or go water skiing.

Large hotels are located very close to the beach. If you have settled somewhere far away - no problem: you can get to the beach by public bus (from the bus stop to the beach - no more than 50 meters), and if you come by car - next to there is free parking.

Zoosafari and other entertainments

What must be visited is the Zoosafari , where a special bus goes from Sa-Kom. Here a part of the animals live in a natural environment, and you can drive through "their" territory in your car or on a special bus. Since the animals are quite curious and active (and some, for example - monkeys, even too much) - you will get an unforgettable experience! Visit zoosafari can be daily, from 9-00 to 19-00, and after that visit also in the zoo, where more dangerous animals are in special enclosures.

There are no "special" attractions in Sa-Kom - the town, as already mentioned, is quite young. One of the most popular entertainment here is walking along the promenade leading along the sea. By the way, lovers of shopping with this walk combine "pleasant with useful", as there is a mass of tourist shops.

On the promenade you can reach the neighboring resort of S'Illot. And to the left of the beach there is a protected area - peninsula Punta de n'Amer, where the old defensive tower is preserved. The unique untouched nature of the peninsula deserves special attention.

A variety of nightly entertainment is usually organized by the hotels themselves, but if you want something more - you can go to a night disco in the nearby Cala Millor, located just 2 km away.

Food with a national flavor

Despite the fact that the resort, as already mentioned, very fond of German and British tourists, food in the local cafes and restaurants is represented by a wide variety. A lot of national dishes - you can taste paella, jamon with melon, seafood dishes. A lot of different dishes from raw vegetables. In short, the resort provides an opportunity to fully enjoy the traditional cuisine of Spain.
