According to another version of the ancient Greek God Poseidon was rescued by his mother, who told her husband that she had given birth to a foal and gave it to be eaten. She gave the son to Kafira, the daughter of the ocean, who along with the volcanic spirits of the Ttelkhinas brought up a young God. In Homer's Iliad it is mentioned that Poseidon, mythology confirms this, was younger than Zeus, but did not recognize the authority of his elder brother and even tried to overthrow him.

The Amphitrite, the daughter of Nereus and Dorides, became the goddess of the seas. Together with her sisters mermaids, she lived at the bottom of the sea cave, where she saw Poseidon. Children of Poseidon
The God of the seas had many children and not only from a legitimate spouse. Here are his famous sons and daughters:
- The wife of Amphitrite gave birth to his son Triton, who became the ruler of the Tritonia Lake, located in Libya. Lost in its waters the ship of the Argonauts, the king returned to the sea and gave a handful of earth, which later turned into the island of Callistus.
