To get to Paraguay , and also to move from one city to another it is possible both ground and air transport . There are several airports in the country: two of them serve aircraft from other countries, and the rest carry out only domestic transportation.
International air harbors
The following airports are considered to be the most important in the country:
- Silvio Pettirossi (Asuncion Silvio Pettirossi). It is located 12 km from the capital, Asuncion . It serves charter flights and operates 18 airlines (TAM Mercosur, Soldel Paraguay, Regional Paraguaya Lineas Aereas, etc.). The airport has one terminal and meets the main international criteria. Registration for boarding begins for 2.5 hours for international lines and for 2 hours for - domestic, and it ends in 40 minutes. If you purchased an e-ticket, then for the paperwork you will only need a passport. In the airport building there is a post office, ATMs, shops, a currency exchange office, a telephone and a food court. Also there is a car rental, you can book a transfer or call a taxi, and the national bus is run by a regular bus (from 5:00 in the morning until 20:00 in the evening). The nearest settlements are Luke (7 km) and Mariano Roque Alonso (11 km).
- Guaraní International Airport. Located near the city of Ciudad del Este (25 km). There are internal, external and charter flights, as well as passenger and freight traffic, the latter being the main ones.
Of the airlines serving this air harbor, the most popular are the Amaszonas and LATAM (for passengers), and Atlas Air, Centurion Air Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo (for cargo transportation). The nearest settlements are Colonia de Felix Azara (10 km) and Minga Guasu (12 km).
In Paraguay, there are several airports that mainly operate domestic flights, but can take flights from neighboring countries if necessary:
- Alejo Garcia. It is located near the cities of Südad del Este (27 km) and Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil (31 km). Here there is an online scoreboard, where you can track information about arrivals and departures, as well as get acquainted with the schedule for the coming days.

- Silvio Pettirossi (ASU) - is located in the capital of the country at an altitude of 89 m above sea level and has a runway - 3353 m;
- Teniente Prim Alarcon (ENO) - located in Encarnación at an altitude of 85 m and has a runway - 901 m;
- Mariscal Estigarribia (ESG) - is located in the same city, the runway is 3500 m, and the height - 169 m;
- Pilar (PIL) - is located in the city of the same name at a height of 76 m;
- Filadelfia (FLM) - is located in the village of Philadelphia at an altitude of 139 m, the length of the runway is 1400 m;
- Santiago (SYP) - is located in the city of Santiago at a height of 83 m.
