Ozokerite - application

Ozokerite is a medicinal product in the form of a waxy mass, which is of oil origin. It contains paraffin, mineral oils and a number of other substances that are used for medicinal purposes.

Composition and external characteristics of ozocerite

Ozokerite is sometimes referred to as mineral, but this is an erroneous opinion. It is a mass with high-molecular saturated hydrocarbons:

Externally, ozocerite is similar to beeswax, but the characteristic smell of kerosene does not confuse it with the product of beekeeping.

The deposit of ozocerite is the mineral "veins" of the earth, in which oil gradually evaporates and oxidizes with the formation of paraffin, which solidifies in the clefts.

In nature, it is possible to find ozokerite of different density and degree of solidification: from soft and waxy to hard as gypsum.

Ozokerite - indications for use

In the instructions, ozocerite is given the role of an anesthetic and an anti-inflammatory agent, which has a good heat capacity and low thermal conductivity. Because of this, it is used in the methods of heat treatment:

Ozokerite at home

Instructions for the use of ozocerite says that it can be used in two ways:

The first way to apply ozocerite is the compress:

  1. Take the gauze and fold it into 8 layers, and then sew the edges to make a bag.
  2. Put it in a container, where previously ozokerite was melted.
  3. Then remove the fabric with forceps and squeeze over the pan cover or any other metal surface.
  4. It is important to squeeze the fabric very well, so that no droplets drip from it - otherwise, the ozocerite will burn the skin.
  5. After wringing, the tissue with ozocerite is spread on the surface so that it cools down to the desired temperature.
  6. Typically, the compress consists of two such bags, which are also called gaskets. They are placed on a sore spot one above the other and covered with oilcloth, wax paper or a quilted jacket - to choose from.
  7. The temperature of the gasket, which is laid first, should not exceed 50 degrees, and the second (smaller in size) should have a higher temperature - 60-70 degrees, depending on the readings.
  8. Compression after application is fixed with a bandage, and the patient is covered with a sheet and a warm blanket.

The second way of using ozocerite is "flat cake":

  1. Molten ozocerite is poured into a flat bath with an oilcloth - a cuvette.
  2. The Zetas are waiting for the ozokerite to solidify and cool, so that it turns into a flat cake.
  3. The thicker the ozocerite cake, the longer it will retain heat.
  4. When the temperature of the ozocerite reaches the desired parameter, the cake is removed together with the oilcloth and applied to the diseased area, and the top is covered with a quilted jacket and wrapped around the patient.

Ozokerite in the form of a flat cake is used when the patient is shown not hot but warm compresses.

Application of ozocerite in cosmetology

The use of cosmetic ozokerite is known in paraffin therapy . Masks contribute to the resorption of scars and muscle relaxation, which is beneficial for general well-being, and on the skin.

Contraindications:

With inaccurate treatment with ozocerite, burns and balneological reactions are possible - irregularities in the work of organs.
