New Wave Festival

For more than 10 years, the most spectacular musical event, the New Wave Festival, has been held annually in Latvia in the resort town of Jurmala . History of the New Wave Festival

Every year, starting from the middle of July, and for 5-7 days until the beginning of August , the concert hall "Dzintari" receives many guests. For the first time in 2002, 15 foreign performers visited his stage. The honorable place among the guests was occupied and now occupied by such celebrities as Alla Pugacheva, Philip Kirkorov, Laima Vaikule, Valery Leontiev and many others, domestic and foreign celebrities. The whole idea of ​​the opening of the New Wave festival belongs to the legendary Latvian composer Raymond Pauls and the popular Russian producer Igor Krutomu.

The first winner of the New Wave festival was the duet "Smash". In the following years, such talented performers as Irina Dubtsova, Roxette, Dima Bilan, Anastasia Stotskaya, Polina Gagarina, Tina Karol, Enrique Iglesias and many others participated in this competition.

Since 2005, all the winners of the New wave have been awarded a monetary prize from the "muse" of the contest, Alla Pugacheva. However, the main symbolic reward was and remains a statuette in the form of three waves of white and black crystal imitating piano keys.

For all the years the festival New Wave and its winners managed to win a huge spectator sympathy.
