Nail polishing with gel-varnish

Gel-nail polish - perhaps one of the most grandiose discoveries in the nail industry. This material keeps on the nails for two or three weeks, without rubbing and not losing the original gloss. In addition, it is fairly easy to apply, because the coating gel gel varnish is possible at home .

Features of gel-varnish

In consistence gel-lacquer resembles the usual varnish coating, but unlike it, it does not freeze in air, but requires polymerization in an ultraviolet lamp. Therefore, special skills when applying this material are not needed, but a UV lamp will be needed.

This coating is removed from the nails more difficult than traditional varnishes, and this is the only drawback that is lost against the background described below advantages.

  1. The coating is durable - it does not roll down or peel off for three weeks, even under the influence of aggressive factors (water, detergents, etc.).
  2. The manicure with gel-lacquer coating positively affects the structure of the nails, making them stronger and less brittle.
  3. Gel-lacquer is conveniently applied and gives the nails a special mirror shine.

Gel coverage is ideal if you have a long trip - business trip or vacation, for example. The firmness of the gel will be appreciated by the housewives, who are uncomfortable doing homework in gloves - after numerous washing and cleaning the manicure will look all the same impeccably.

Technology of application of gel-varnish

Covering nails with gel-varnish implies a different design - a coat, a painting, a monophonic layer. We will consider the latter option.

  1. With a metal spatula, the cuticle is moved away and the dead skin is removed with the help of an ax. After the manicure procedure, hands are cleaned of creams and oils, and then air-dried for 10 minutes.
  2. Form the free edge of the nail using a file 180/180.
  3. From the nail plate, remove the natural gloss (the upper keratin layer) with a high abrasive buff or 100/180 file.
  4. Dust formed during filing is removed with a brush.
  5. The nails are wiped with a hairless cloth moistened with a disinfectant.
  6. Apply a Bond (Bond) - a product with a fat-free formula (dehydrator), then do not touch the nail plates.
  7. For each nail, apply a base layer of gel (Base Gel). If the nail plate is weakened, which happens after removing the nails, then before applying the base gel, use an acid-free primer. It will improve the adhesion of the nail to the gel coat. It is important that the base gel is applied in a thin layer (and on the butt of the nail too), not falling on the cuticle and the rollers around the nail. If this happens, the gel should be removed from the skin with an orange stick.
  8. The base layer is dried in a lamp. If you use a 36W fluorescent device, the polymerization time is 1 minute; if the LED-lamp - drying is 10 seconds.
  9. On the dried marigold, apply a colored gel-varnish with a thin layer. If it is a pastel or bright shade, two layers are applied, each one being dried in a lamp for 2 minutes (for a LED unit - 30 seconds). Gel dark shades can be applied in two or even three layers, but all of them must be thin. If the lower layers turned out uneven - it's not scary.
  10. Painted and dried marigolds are covered with a finishing coat (TOP-gel) of slightly more thickness than the colored layers. The layer is dried for 2 minutes in a UV machine or 30 seconds in a LED lamp.
  11. Remove the sticky layer using a sponge or a hairless cloth moistened with Cleanser - it gives the nail a beautiful sheen and moistens the plate. Pedicure with a coating of gel-varnish is done in a similar sequence.

How to remove gel-nail polish from nails?

The gel coating is removed with the help of a special agent - the usual acetone and its analogues will not work. In the liquid, the cotton wool is wetted, the nail is wrapped around it, then the finger is wrapped with foil and the product is kept for 15-25 minutes. During this time, the gel has time to peel off, after which it is convenient to remove it with a wooden stick.
