Mastic of marshmallows for a cake at home - recipe
Perhaps the most common recipe for mastic is the one that is prepared on the basis of marshmallow marshmallow. In addition to the marshmallows themselves, the composition includes powdered sugar powder, the latter fact is really important in case you want to prepare a fairly dense mastic, which, for everything else, will not break.
Ingredients:
- marshmallow - 455 g;
- water 75 ml;
- powdered sugar - 920 g;
- the melted butter - 115 ml.
Preparation
Since the marshmallow is heated pretty quickly, start by preparing the most powdered sugar. The whole preparation consists in sifting it through a fine sieve. After, place all the marshmallows in a sufficiently deep dish, suitable for microwave, pour all the water and leave to melt for one and a half minutes. To the resulting mass, add all the powdered sugar and melted butter. If you have a food processor with a special hook attachment, then use it, otherwise you will have to work on the mastic manually until it becomes smooth and ductile. Afterwards, the product is immediately used, or stored in sealed containers, wrapped in a film, in the cold.
If necessary, portions of mastic can be easily colored with food coloring on a gel basis.
Sugar gelatin mastic with own hands - recipe
There is also an alternative recipe for gelatin mastic, ideally suited for molding a variety of shapes and decor elements. To cover the whole cake, this mastic will not do it, since it hardens too quickly, loses its plasticity.
Ingredients:
- powdered sugar - 520 g;
- water - 55 ml;
- gelatin - 10 g.
Preparation
Before dissolving granules of gelatin, pour warm water and leave until swelling. After swelling, the gelatin solution is heated until it is completely transparent. When it is ready, pour about half of the sifted sugar, and kneading this simple mass, shift it to the table and continue kneading by adding portions of powdered sugar until the mastic ceases to be sticky.
Milk mastic at home - recipe
The basis of milk mastic is not only powdered sugar, but also a dry infant formula. This mastic gets a light milk taste due to the mixture itself and condensed milk, which we also add in addition.
Ingredients:
- Milk mixture - 340 g;
- condensed milk - 1 jar;
- powdered sugar - 355 g.
Preparation
Pass the milk mixture and sugar powder through a fine sieve, then mix everything with a jar of condensed milk.
